Young Angel Book Fair

Book week is organised by Young Angels intermittently as a week-long affair to bring our young readers latest variety of books and activity kits. During this week, we showcase distinct types of books based on- life skill activities, stories, general knowledge, children's learning, sketching, and many more books for classes-Pre-primary to VIII. We know that one of the best ways to learn is to read a book, and to further inculcate this habit, we make sure that there is a separate section for reading-comprehensions and story books for every grade.
Here we have something to offer everyone. Children just have to select the books they want to buy from a wish list. Special browsing sessions for students as well as teachers are allotted to provide them ample time during the week to select their favourite books, and add them to their wish list. At the end of every book week, there is a one day PTM, on this day children, accompanied by their parents, can order books of their interest. Many-a-times special themed books are also showcased to make children aware about the various kinds of books and trends.
Purpose behind organising such books weeks is to develop children's interest in books other than their course books. By inculcating the habit of reading, developing literary skills, and making children avid readers, we want to make them pro-active learners. To further spark the interest of our young brigade, we also conduct some entertainment activities like storytelling sessions and story writing competitions. To give such contests a complete ending, winners are awarded with Achievement Certificates and book hampers. There is also a lucky draw wherein a lucky winner is given a book-hamper.

Purpose of book-week:
•     to display maximum variety of children books,
•     to bring in special theme based books to ticker the minds of young readers,
•     to organise exclusive activities within the school premises to provide maximum benefit to the students from class pre-to VIII during the entire week,
•     to arrange various competitions for children to develop self-confidence,
•     to award winners with Achievement Certificates and book hampers,
•     to organise a special lucky draw at the end of the week for the class with maximum purchase of books, and
•     to motivate children further by giving them attractive gifts along with every purchase done by them.

Young Angel Book Fair

Book fairs are organised by Young Angels within the school premises. These fairs aim to provide a plethora of options in extra-curricular books to the students from classes pre-primary to VIII of different schools. In these fairs, students spend time browsing a wide range of books from all disciplines of education and life skills development. Duration of a book fair can range fromone-day event to a week-long fest. Schools can pick and choose their desired format and dates.
Vision behind organising book fairs:
1. To inculcate reading habits among children
• Studies show that reading for pleasure makes a significant difference in a child's educational performance. This further helps him/her to develop a broader vocabulary, increase general knowledge and gain better understanding of other cultures. In fact, reading for pleasure is more likely to determine whether a child does well at school than their social or economic background.
• The more books children read, the faster their vocabulary is expanded. Books help them to learn novel words and innovative ways of using the words that they already know. This accelerates preschool child development, and improves their soft skills in the long run.
• A regular habit of reading books creates empathy toward other people. This is because literature values humanity and celebrates human spirit and potential, offering insight into different lifestyles while recognizing universality.
• Children who learn to read at an early age perform much better than those who grow up watching TV and playing games on computers.
• Reading books is a very important activity that no child should be deprived of during the early years of his/her life.

2. Variety of books under one roof
• Book fairs play a vital role in encouraging children of all age-groups to take up reading. Young Angels puts up its best effort to bring together a variety of books from all over the globe and share the vast range of its unique collection with schools in India.
• Taking a cue from international book fairs, we try to bring in books which do not follow the same format of imparting education or knowledge. Books applying various contemporary teaching principles are our highlight.
• We procure the kinds of books which have a rising international demand. We try to bring in books focusing new educational concepts in Indian schools that are introduced every year in International books market. These books make learning more fun filled experience.
• It saves the time and effort of children and parents to go and hunt for the good books in the market.

Young Angel PTM

PTM is a one day event organized by Young Angels at the end of every book fair and book week. Upon a school’s request these PTMs can be organized independent of any fair as well. In this interaction, children and parents get to order their selected books from the wish list (generally selected during book fair or book week).
